Post-doctoral position in Mathematics at the University of Strasbourg (France) starting September 2011.

- Salary : between 2400 - 2500 € net per month

Applicants should be willing to work in the following fields understood in the broad sense : symplectic geometry, real algebraic geometry, tropical geometry, geometric topology, group theory, singularity theory, Teichmüller theory. An interest in the study of Stein manifolds or stratified spaces will be appreciated but not considered as necessary.

The main duty will be research and participation in the departmental activities. There is no teaching load associated with this position, but the applicant will be invited to present in detail his research in a series of lectures every other semester. The post-doc will also receive a travel grant of 2000 Euros/year. He or she will also be eligible for additional travel/equipment funding from departmental resources.

Successful applicants will be expected to have graduated from a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral program by the end of the academic year 2010-2011. Applicants who graduated before January 2005 are not eligible. For further information on applying please contact our secretary Ms Binta Baldé at
